The Dog-Friendly Cafe.
These new cafes and coffee shops are the brainchild of my daughter Louise Rawlinson.
Louise already has a very successful dog sitting, walking, dog home boarding and a daily dog crèche set in 50 acres of park and woodland.
The crèche is located near Chessington in rolling parkland on the borders of Surrey and Middlesex. Her company is called (1) Sociable Canines.
She is also an accomplished puppy and adult dog trainer. This new venture had been on her mind for some time. Up until recently early last year the premises and location were not available.
The first Paws for Coffee opened in Hampton Hill, opposite one of the entrances to Bushy Park. The second largest Royal Park in Greater London.
It was so successful that it was clear that other areas would benefit from this unique concept. However, location is the key. Paws for Coffee has now opened a second shop in East Sheen Near Richmond Park and Sheen Common Woods and it is doing extremely well.
Paws for Coffee even has doggy menus that include puppychinos (goats milk lightly warmed with black pudding pieces in the bottom) plus a selection of home-made dog treats and Calves hooves etc. Plus specialized dog accessories.
All dogs are all welcome to sit at the tables with you. Each table has a dog lead hooks that have been specially made to be robust as are the tables that are totally unique.
Since opening the first Paws for Coffee In March 2016 it has been spectacularly busy and very well received.
It is the place to come for discerning dog owners, the coffee and food has been voted number one in Hampton Hill.
One of the things that I found unusual was very few customers coming into the café use their mobile phones except to take pictures. They talk to the other customers.
I think that is because they have something in common. And that is, of course, the Dogs. They are brilliant icebreakers.
Having said that, the shops are attracting lots of adults and children that do not own a dog. There are kiddies menus and free doggy handmade balloons and coloring in pages. Paws for Coffee is open to all, however, do expect to see dogs in there when you arrive.

The Cafe’s have free Wifi and a very wide and varied menu, of course, it serves absolutely great coffee. Just have a look on and see what people are saying about it. There are rave reviews about the food that caters also caters for gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan customers as well as the carnivores.
I hope to see you there? Though I am extremely busy as a full-time behaviourist, I still pop in on an almost daily basis. If I am there, it may be possible to get some advice and tips, if you are having behavioural or training problems with your dogs.
Below are some pictures and a dog’s eye view video clip courtesy of John Royle who owns the little terrier. Though it plays on my computer, it does not appear to work on my phone. Paws for Coffee has been awarded the highest rating by the food standards agency. (3) Paws for Coffee website has the menus and many other details and a gallery of the shops and the dogs that come there.
